mara mea Team Picks: Dorina's SS19 favorite styles
Today I present to you my absolute favorite pieces from the SS19 collection "ITALIAN BOHEMIA".
My number one favorite blouse this summer is definitely the Staycation Wrap Blouse. I absolutely love the lightweight cotton fabric and the floral embroidery on the sleeve. It's always a great joy when, after an intensive design process, elaborate embroidery artwork, and a lot of passion, we finally hold our first samples in our hands, wear the finished pieces ourselves, and then suddenly see them on strangers on the street.
This summer, by the way, it happened quite often that Maren and I wore the blouse at the same time in the office - the small big difference - Maren with and me without a baby bump :)
Like all our prints and embroideries, the all-over floral print on our floor-length full bloom skirt was created in our Berlin office. Maren and I always enjoy sitting down together in the evenings after the team is already home and starting the design process. About a year later, the collection launched, and thanks to the warm temperatures in Marrakech, I was able to wear the skirt in February. Since then, it's been with me all summer long.
You can never find me without a net shopper , fruit crush , or little thunder . I always have one of these two nets with me when I go shopping or travel.
It's super lightweight and offers enough space for your weekly shopping. The biggest advantage when traveling and on beach vacations is that you don't bring sand home with you. Your towel, sunscreen, bikini, and everything else you need can be easily stored.
The first thing I packed in my suitcase this summer was the red Island Girl dress. Whether I was packing for a vacation, a weekend with my family, a trade show, or a photoshoot in Greece, Island Girl was always there.
My absolute favorite summer backpack from the current ITALIAN BOHEMIA collection is our new Travel Diaper Bag model , vacay mode . On my last production trip to India, it accompanied me daily to the fabric market, while strolling through the narrow alleys of New Delhi, and while exploring Jaipur.
No matter where you look, India's streets are full of inspiration and color. It's no coincidence that this is one of the main sources of inspiration for embroidery and handicrafts.
And now I'm also just a little bit excited about the upcoming Fall/Winter 2019 collection, "WHAT ABOUT YOU?" Because it's about all of us different women. We want to celebrate womanhood in all its facets, the different women's styles, skin tones, and body shapes.
PS You can even see a little Spring/Summer 2020 preview on my head #staycurious
