Mindfulness and gratitude in everyday life
You are what you think.
Modern life moves at a rapid pace. We move too quickly from one task to the next, losing time for attention and gratitude due to all the distractions in our lives.
Living with gratitude and awareness doesn't mean sugarcoating difficult situations, but rather taking a closer look at life and thus noticing the positive aspects. Gratitude is a matter of perspective. We ourselves determine the perspectives we view our own lives. Many people take their lives for granted and aren't aware of everything they have to be grateful for.
Ultimately, it's about fully experiencing and appreciating the present moment, because doing so creates space for happiness in our minds and souls. By living mindfully, we capture our thoughts, engage with them more intensely, and thus can enjoy the beautiful moments more.
We have collected 11 ideas for you on how you can integrate more intensive mindfulness and gratitude into your everyday life.
- The classic first: instead of a quick shower, take a long, relaxing bath. Bathing relaxes your muscles and calms your mind. Relaxation is especially easy with candles, a scented bath oil, and a good book. Afterwards, snuggle up nice and warm, for example, in our sweat set consisting of a cozy days sweater and grace & glory sweatpants .
- Tea instead of coffee.
- Digital detox. Leaving your phone at home, turning it off at night, and occasionally muting it helps your mind calm down. Tip: When meeting up with your best friend, simply turn off your phone and enjoy.
- Always plan a little more time than necessary. Having a buffer between daily tasks gives you time to breathe and reduces stress.
- Start and end the day with yoga . Yoga in the morning gets your circulation going, and in the evening, the exercises relax your muscles and improve sleep quality. In addition to the many benefits of yoga, it especially helps you relax and promotes gratitude and mindfulness.
- Meditate. Candlelight and a relaxing, quiet meditation guide make it easier for beginners to let their minds rest. Meditation is about clearing the mind of all our thoughts so it can recharge. Check out our Heart Opener IGTV meditation .
- Find a little time every day to take care of yourself and nurture your body and mind.
- Get up early and enjoy a sunrise, or sit together in the evening and watch the sunset.
- A tidy environment has a positive effect on your inner peace. The outside world influences your thoughts, and vice versa.
- Discover a new hobby and learn something new. What are you interested in? What have you always wanted to do?
- Daily writing has many benefits. It organizes your thoughts, allowing you to engage with them more intensively and consciously, or even forget them completely after writing. Try 10 minutes of journaling a day.
