Transparent production processes: Our long-standing partnerships with family businesses in India

Since mara mea was founded in 2015, it has been important to us to ensure that our products are manufactured under fair conditions. We have invested a lot of time and passion in finding a suitable production facility where our special mara mea designs and embroidery are lovingly implemented, while still ensuring that all employees work under good conditions and with fair wages. In India, we have found two wonderful family businesses that meet these expectations. We regularly visit the businesses, which has led to not only a super friendly relationship but also a transparent partnership. Fair production in India – The advantages and disadvantages

But why travel all the way to India and accept a less sustainable supply chain, rather than producing in Europe? India is truly the only country capable of producing clothing, bags, and accessories of the quality we at mara mea have always wanted and continue to want to sell. We searched for a long time for the right production facility and were very happy to finally find this one factory where the quality meets our standards and the working conditions for the employees are fair and worth supporting.

Supporting social projects through our collection with the non-profit organization Project Três

We want to fulfill our social responsibility in the fashion industry not only through our regular production. For some time now, we have been collaborating with the nonprofit organization Project Três, which creates social opportunities for women in India and Kenya and gives them the chance to lead self-determined lives. With our mara mea x Project Três scrunchies and keychains , which were created as part of a joint collection, our product range has been expanded to include a cheerful and colorful selection of accessories.
